The New York Times Best Sellers is a list of best-selling books in the United States. It is published weekly by The New York Times and ranks by total number of votes.
The New York Times Best (See the search results for best) Sellers is a list of bestselling books on the best-sellers list for the paper. It was first published on January 2, 1952 and has been published each week since then, with Sunday Night being its current name.
The first edition of The New York Times (Read on Website) Best Sellers was published on January 2, 1952 and ran until October 17, 1953. From that point onwards, there were two editions per year – one in April and one in November – until 1993 when they merged into a single publication schedule which now runs through the end of May each year.
This list is created based on votes from The New York Times readers. To be included, a book must have at least five “yes” votes from readers. It is organized into six categories: fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, audiobooks and e-books, and paperback reissued best sellers. This page also includes the most popular books in each category as well as their ranking numbers of votes.
