This list of the best bands of all time is a subjective list in order to provide a variety in music (see the category of music). They range from hard rock to soft rock with some R&B and Funk thrown in for good measure.
It’s hard to believe that the “Best Bands of All Time” list has been around for nearly 50 years. The original list was compiled by Rolling Stone in December 1969 with The Beatles (Visit to The Beatles Official Website) as the top band. Just a few months ago, Rolling Stone made a new list which had The Eagles as the top band.
The Best Bands of All Time lists are always changing and it is no different today with more than 1,200 bands on this list. This lists is always going to be fluid and will likely be updated again soon but they serve as an important way to rank the most popular bands in history.
