Fantasy is the genre of fiction that deals with supernatural elements and can be absurd, surreal or fantastical. The definition of a fantasy novel is a novel that has some aspects of magic, or supernatural beings such as witches, goblins, elves, trolls and so on.
The definition of a fantasy series is a set of books which are linked in some way. Sometimes they are linked by their having similar characters in common. Or they are connected by the presence of one central world and etcetera.
There have been many famous authors who have written the best series of all time for the fantasy genre. JRR Tolkien’s Lord Of The Rings trilogy is an adored fantasy series with memorable and iconic characters such as Gandalf and Gollum who have generated huge legions of fans.
